The price for a 1-ounce First-Class Mail stamp will increase from 42¢ to 44¢. Prices for other mailing services — Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services (including Parcel Post), and Extra Services — will also change. To place your order for a rate update for Hasler equipment (without Rate Change Protection), please complete and return MAILwaukee's Rate Change Order Form and fax back to us at 262-789-1577.  Instructions for updating the rates in your system will be delivered with your rate update.

Please fax in your order to us by April 24, 2009, to ensure that you receive your rate updated before May 11, 2009.  If you place an order after this date, we may not be able to guarantee that you will receive your rate software update prior to the rate change effective date.

Did you know that the Postal Service now adjusts prices for mailing services each May and shipping services each January?

The Postal Service has already adopted this new calendar schedule for price adjustments. The May 11, 2009 increase in mailing rates and fees is in addition to the Priority Mail® and Express Mail® shipping rate changes that went into effect on January 18, 2009.
MAILwaukee recommends that mailers and shippers keep current with both updates.

Accurate rating prevents the needless overpayment of postage. It also eliminates returns for insufficient postage and delivery delays or refusal related to carrier collection of “Postage Due” for short-paid mail or packages.

Always stay current with Rate Change Protection.

A subscription to a rate change protection contract is the easiest and most economical way for your mailroom to stay on top of adjustments to Postal Service rates. With rate change protection, you are guaranteed automatic, on-time delivery of the latest updates. One flat annual fee caps your cost and keeps you current for a full year. Contact us today for more information about how you can enroll.

If you have questions, about the upcoming rate change, or wish to schedule an appointment with a representative to discuss ways in which your business can better adapt to the evolving Postal environment, please feel free to contact us at 262-789-9181.

At MAILwaukee, we are working hard to remain your reliable source for the finest mail processing equipment.  We appreciate your business and continually strive to provide you with the highest quality products and services.
